he Pixel Market is a finance market at the centre of Power to the Pixel’s Cross-Media Forum bringing together top-level executives from the worlds of film, TV, publishing, online, interactive, the arts, games and mobile. The market is a totally unique global event that facilitates inter-industry partnerships as well as providing extensive networking opportunities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Up to 30 of the best cross-media projects from around the world will be selected for this third edition, with eight of the teams chosen to go head-to-head at The Pixel Pitch competition on 17 October. As in previous years, each team will give a 10-minute presentation, in front of a public audience, to a distinguished international jury who will give feedback to each team and decide who walks away with the prestigious £6,000 ARTE Pixel Pitch Prize.

The Pixel Pitch is followed by The Pixel Meetings on 18 October, a day of bespoke 1-2-1 meetings between the 30 selected teams and over 100 international decision-makers from the international media industries. This year’s Pixel Market also sees three new prize categories for comedy, kids and non-fiction projects, please see the application form for full details:

beActive Pixel Market Comedy Prize
Win £2,500 and automatic selection for the Digital Comedy Lab 2013.

Cinekid Pixel Market Prize (4 – 14 year olds)
Win automatic selection to the 2012 Cinekid for Professionals co-production market in October, plus return travel and two nights accommodation in Amsterdam.

Mozilla Pixel Market Prize for Non-Fiction
Participate at the Living Docs hackathon in San Francisco in September, with flights and accommodation paid for.

Only projects selected for The Pixel Market will be eligible for these prizes.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
The Pixel Market is open to all nationalities. Applications must be made by the producer of the project through a production company. Projects without a producer attached will not be eligible.

Projects can be fiction or non-fiction and must have a story that extends onto more than one platform.

All projects selected for The Pixel Market will be considered for competition at The Pixel Pitch. Please read full guidelines within the application form for eligibility details for all other prizes.
