Logitech has just announced the Logitech® TV Cam HD, which seamlessly transforms Skype video calls into an experience that can involve the whole family or groups of friends on each end of the call and it works with Skype on any HDTV with an HDMI input, so you’re able to easily share everyday moments with anyone with a Skype account, anywhere in the world. Not only that,  you have the freedom to move around the room naturally while connecting with those who matter most, so you’ll feel like you’re in the same room!

This is the next step to making TVoip a standard in the living room. Imagine if you could simply work out with your yoga instructor one on one or one to many, or share football games with multiple frames (in the future you might be able to small frame into the TV screen landscape around the game)? Skype TV is a topic that barely sees the light of day at Social TV events or talks - but it's my guess that it will likely underpin Social TV a new way - when you can actually see your family, friends, competitors, etc. 

No additional software or computer is needed, the built-in Skype application enables you to  use your current Skype account to call existing Skype contacts on their smartphone, laptop, TV or tablet.  Connection to the Internet is via wireless or Ethernet while Logitech Fluid Crystal™ Technology and Carl Zeiss® optics deliver sharp, rich colors in HD 720p resolution video – even in your living room’s low light.
