Audible Magic,
the leading innovator in automated content recognition (ACR) technology
for ‘smart’ consumer electronics (CE) and other applications, today
announced that it has been awarded three new technology patents, all for
innovations in ACR. Bringing its patent total to 21, the new patents
underscore Audible Magic’s belief that a strong base of intellectual
property (IP) is essential to providing its customers the most creative
development environment and, ultimately, a greater chance for success in
the marketplace.
Of the three patents, the United States Patent and Trademark Office
awarded two (#8,130,746 and #8,199,651) and the European Patent Office
awarded one (#1,771,791.) These three patents add to the companies IP
portfolio that began with its first patent granted in 1999. A list of
the company’s granted patents can be reviewed at http://audiblemagic.com/
“Receiving the patent awards is very gratifying and recognition of the substantial investments we’ve made to advance the ACR market,” said James Schrempp, Audible Magic’s VP of Product Investigation and Core Technology. “These patents reaffirm our commitment to leading the way in offering highly creative and valuable solutions to address the many facets of ACR. And, needless to say, the innovation continues.”
“Our IP minimizes business risk for our customers and ensures they won’t be forced to work around patents,” noted Vance Ikezoye, Audible Magic’s CEO. “We feel that our ability to innovate allows customers the greatest flexibility and freedom to exercise their creativity while not being limited because the technology doesn’t exist, isn’t cost effective or easy to use, or imposes other kinds of design restrictions.”
Audible Magic will be demonstrating its suite of patent protected SmartID solutions, including Audini that is its browser-based ACR platform , at the IBC 2012 Convention in Amsterdam between September 7-11, 2012. The company’s exhibit in the IBC Connected World located in Hall 14, Stand 142.
