An enhanced TV surfing experience is on hand — new TV apps packed
within an awesome interface, great video features, extensive
monetization options for content makers and much more. Opera Software is
showing off its latest line of exciting TV products at the
International Broadcast Cooperation Show 2012 in Amsterdam.
“The world of TV is now fragmented into different technologies,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “Opera, with its great multiplatform experience and innovative solutions, brings a new standard to this world. Drop by Opera’s booth and take a look at how many cool improvements we’ve hidden behind all those trendy abbreviations, that are well worth remembering.”
The refreshed Opera TV Store with new HTML5 apps
The latest version of Opera’s HTML5 app framework, ready for deployment
on all TV models, shines now with a new, sleek user interface and a
great selection of new apps. Opera’s Companion SDK, which turns a
smartphone into a smart remote control, and side-by-side applications
bring a great new web experience on TV. App developers get extra
monetization options, new ways to interact with their content and
developer-device registration, enabling debugging of their app on a
retail device.
Opera Devices SDK with support for UVA
The latest Opera Devices SDK now brings new video options and improved
performance. Support for OpenGL ES 2.0 for awesome performance on
high-end platforms, HTML5 <track> tag, and integration of a
multi-protocol Adaptive Bitrate Streaming engine make the Opera Devices
SDK the most powerful toolkit for TV browsing and TV app solutions
today.
Struggling to get your video app to work on many incompatible Smart TV
platforms? Our Unified Video Architecture, with support for CE-HTML and
HTML5 video with a single Media Player integration, provides a much
easier way to serve video content. Content providers can now deliver
web-standard-based video, available directly in the browser, and reduce
costs to integrate streaming and DRM features.
But, wait, there’s more, including handy options for developers, such
as the new and improved Opera TV Emulator with WebGL support and a
dedicated HbbTV emulator for HbbTV app creation. Check out other helpful
