leading enabler of Smart TV and IPTV apps, has announced that it has
been selected to power social TV applications being launched by Spanish
pay TV and triple play services provider Telecable.
The Telecable service enable its viewers to engage with social media
directly on the TV, including reading feeds and sharing what they are
watching through their Social Media Status Profile. Through the social
TV integration viewers can also view and comment on pictures posted to
social networks through the TV.
“Telecable's investment in Social TV is a great example of enhancing the viewing experience through attractive social media integration” says Jerónimo Macanás, VP Southern Europe and Latin America, Accedo. “Telecable is the first Pay TV Operator in Spain to integrate social media features and we are pleased to enable this innovative service for them”.
The service is a commercial deployment of Accedo’s Social Integration Toolkit, a software module which gives users the ability to engage with the application via Social Media services such as Facebook and Twitter directly on their TV.
