The Machinima Expo, a festival of real-time rendered animation (“machinima”), will take place this November 16, 17th and 18th (Friday through Sunday), 2012, in the virtual world of Second Life (secondlife.com) and live at the festival website via Livestream (livestream.com).
The Machinima Expo is now in it's 5th of presenting machinima film screenings, awards and animation programming for the machinima community and animation amateurs all over the world. Over 50 films were screened at last year's Machinima Expo and over 16 hours of programming was presented via the virtual world of Second Life and broadcast live through the Machinima Expo website.
Machinima is a fast growing animation art form that uses video game technology to create 3D animated films in real time.
Since the Machinima Expo is a virtual film festival, attendees will need a computer, an internet connection and a web-browser to attend the festival. The Expo is also web-phone friendly and you can attend via your iphone or Android phone quite easily by simply going to the machinima-expo.com website and clicking on the Livestream link.
The Machinima Expo is produced by Ricky Grove and Kate Fosk with a volunteer staff of individuals from all over the world. The annual machinima festival has grown significantly from it's early years with thousands of interested filmmakers and artists attending the screenings and programming events each year.
