Malysian 'OTT Porn' Service Busted

The Malaysian Star reports that police have busted 12 individuals and cracked a porn syndicate in Malaysia last week that was using OTT technology to deliver illegal video to at least 2,000 customers in the space of a year.

Nine men and three women, between 28 and 40 were arrested in a joint operation with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Cyber Security Malaysia, in five separate raids in Penang, Kedah and Perlis and Bukit Aman

"During a one-month surveillance, we obtained information that the company was providing IPTV services illegally," he said, adding that the three agencies then raided the Park View Tower condominium here at about 11pm.

They were selling IPTV boxes at approximately €100 each
