Flingo (www.flingo.tv),
the largest publisher of Smart TV apps, today announced a partnership
with Bonnier Corp., one of the largest consumer-publishing groups in the
U.S., to enhance its print content with interactive TV applications.
Flingo has developed Smart TV apps to bring content from Bonnier's
collection of 45 leading publications and properties such as Popular Science, Parenting, Field & Stream,
TransWorld, Warren Miller, and more, into viewers' homes. The apps are
available on the over 15 million Smart TV devices that run on Flingo's
platform including TiVo, LG, Samsung, Vizio, Sanyo, Insignia, and
Western Digital.
"Our TV apps with Flingo provide a new, more engaging way for people to take advantage of our great content," said Sean Holzman, Bonnier Corp's Chief Brand Development Officer. "Watching content on a big screen in HD is an amazing new way for our readers to absorb the videos they love. A TransWorld SNOWboarding subscriber can not only enjoy a competition up close, they can share their thoughts and reactions with others in real-time -- all from their own living room."
Flingo, which publishes more Smart TV apps than any other company in the world, allows viewers to access their favorite print content in an interactive format on their TVs for a richer experience. This also gives publishers like Bonnier a new channel to reach their audience.
"Our partnership with Bonnier shows how print publications can expand their offerings to new platforms," said Ashwin Navin, CEO and co-founder of Flingo. "Smart TVs open up a market of millions of people who are looking for high quality content at their fingertips. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Bonnier."
