Comcast unveils Social TV service Tunerfish

ComcastDuring the TechCrunch Disrupt, Comcast presented their Social TV product, Tunerfish.
Tunerfish enables real-time commenting based on what they are watching on TV or online video sharing services via their social networks. It shows what programs are trending.
Some of the video sharing services include Youtube and Vimeo.

In the article on TechCrunch, McCrea defines Tunerfish as a ‘social discovery engine’ for video content. McCrea is the VP of Marketing of Plaxo, which is acquired by Comcast in 2008 and leads the Tunerfish project.

Tunerfish incorporates game mechanics in terms of rewarding those who share, this is key to the experience of Tunerfish.

The public beta of the service will be live in the next two weeks.
