TV Guide Out on iPad in Two Screen Social TV Move

TV Guide Digital, with over 1.3 million iPhone app installations, announced today that its TV Guide App for iPad, sponsored exclusively by Showtime and featuring social TV listings, entertainment news, and's signature Fall TV Preview coverage, is now available on the App Store.

This is another interesting take on the Social TV, Two Screen solution market - mainly due to the strength of the ole' TV Guide brand in the USA and Canada in particular. A good move on their part - how successful it will be on the iPad is yet to be seen. However, there's some traction already... already reaches more than 23 million unique visitors per month.

With Facebook and Twitter share buttons integrated directly within the listings grid for the first time, TV Guide App users will have the unique ability to share plans to watch their favorite shows via their social networks.

Showtime will be the first network to run a full-length episode in the iPad app with their new show, "The Big C," starring Laura Linney. The full episode is featured within the Fall Preview section of the app, along with interviews and preview videos for new and returning shows. The TV Guide app also will allow users to keep lists of their favorite TV channels and shows on their iPad. Users can browse listings by time to see what's on now or up to 14 days in advance, or can search by show name, cast member, episode title and episode or program description.
