According to the Spanish newspaper "El Economista", Vodafone Spain plans to enter the Pay-TV fray.
The service is dubbed as "Vodafone Internet TV" according to Telecompaper.
RapidTV News elaborates on Francisco Román -Vodafone España's president- plans:
The company's new service will include pay-DTT content together with the conventional DTT offering and also HDTV content.
In addition, Vodafone España's future pay-TV platform will allow subscribers to view their own contents such as photographs, music and videos.
It will also give the opportunity of navigating through the Internet and accessing to specific Internet contents through the TV set.
Till then, Vodafone Spain offers only streaming mobile TV.
To support this service, Vodafone will offer the following device:
The Huawei HG553 device, enabling Wi-Fi connection between various home devices.
Users will thus be able to send content downloaded from the internet, including movies or music, directly to the decoder.
