Miso Social TV and UK's History Channel Cut Deal

C21 Media is reporting that Recommendation Engine, TV Badge (Foursquare model ) company Miso has signed with History Channel UK  to create interaction around the program Ice Road Truckers.

Miso, backed by Google, will being on September 9, 2010 for start of season 4 - which is attempting to apply a to TV shows, will kick off the Ice Road Truckers alliance with the start of season four on September 9.

"Viewers who tune into the series and check into Miso via the web or by using the company's iPhone, iPad or Android apps, will unlock unique virtual badges and be entered into a prize draw for Sony PS3," reports C21 Media.

"Miso allows us to connect with fans of 'Ice Road Truckers' through a new engagement channel, and right at the moment they are watching on TV," History Channel UK digital marketing manager, Kiera Doherty, said in a prepared statement. "We're excited to be the first international network partner to work with Miso."

Miso has an open API for developers (currently in private beta),  which allows for bringing the Miso Social TV experience to other applications.
