CTC Media, a Russian independent media company, has launched its new social television network Videomore, the company recently reported. Videomore is an interactive video platform which is intended to provide free access to content from CTC Media's three Russian channels, CTC, Domashny and DTV.

The new social TV network uses high-end technology that facilitates the provision of unique additional features, combining the functionality of a classic video streaming portal with the interactivity of a social network, CTC Media said.

Total investments in the new video platform are expected to reach approximately USD2.5m by the end of next year and the project is expected to break even within two years.

Content will be monetised through the insertion of advertising spots into the videos, subscription offerings for premium services and pay-per-view revenues.
