Adding to their patent portfolio now 24 strong, Audible Magic recently obtained six new patents further cornering IP in the ACR arena, one of which  automatically identifies TV advertising -  foundational for enabling interactive TV advertising solutions for both 1st and 2nd screen uses.

They recently announced that they were awarded six new technology patents, all for recent innovations in digital fingerprinting, content recognition and related technologies.

With the addition of these six patents-four awarded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and two by the European Patent Office-Audible Magic now holds 24 U.S. and European patents in all.

“Innovation is at the heart of what we do,” said Jim Schrempp, Audible Magic’s Co-Founder and VP of Core Technology. “We have a record of receiving patent awards that dates back to 1999 as well as a sincere belief that strong IP protection provides a valuable insurance policy for our customers.

Customers who use our services get the benefit of using our patent protected intellectual property. This minimizes their business risk, and fosters a more stable and creative development environment. Our customers know that they won’t be forced to change their application, possibly even removing key features, in order to avoid violating some patent. In every important respect, patent protection is key to a well thought out go to market strategy.”

Audible Magic also has several more patent applications in the works with both the U.S. and European patent offices. These will be announced when patent awards are made.
