Cnet is reporting that Google has been delving out invitations for a NYC media event on October 12th that promises to introduce "the world's first Internet Television." Sony's "Internet Television" is one of the first home video products that will include built-in support for Google TV, the new Web video service from the search giant that promises to integrate Google search and any Web-based Flash video directly into the TV.

Though we have covered Google TV probably more than anyone with close to 20 articles now - way back to early 2010, Appmarket.tv did not get the invite unfortunately! Perhaps our coverage of Google I/O earlier this year, aptly titled, "Google TV - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at #io2010 with the Android, Flash and Chrome Show", did not win us any friends...

More from Cnet:

These streaming TV products will be going head-to-head with the already refreshed Roku line, the soon-to-be-released Apple TV update, and the much-anticipated Boxee Box--not to mention Sony's own SMP-N100
