Though it came out earlier this year, this social TV app just came across my radar yesterday - probably because Glee is not quite the rage in Europe... or it's the fact I am an aging Generation X'er, rather than a Millennial. But it's truly an innovative app and the fact is 'Gleeking' out is simple with the Glee app from Smule... This simple yet very effective app lets you create and share songs with friends or sing with the Glee cast.

You sing along to songs from the show - the app displays the lyrics and fortunately, the app will correct your pitch and harmonize your voice while you sing - a la instant karaoke for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

New songs from the show are added every few weeks and become available for download for 99 cents each and the app is three bucks.

They are even using Facebook with Glee cast members plugging the app. Smart.

Iphone App legends, Smule knits the whole together with their “Sonic Network” technology. See the earth view? Well each one of those dots is a song by someone else with the Glee app. You can also share your recordings (on the globe, or via Twitter/Facebook/E-mail) in an effort to acquire fans, known here as “Gleeks” (“Glee Geeks”); the more “Gleeks” your performance has, the more likely it is that you’ll show up on the globe when people search for “Top Performances”.

Viral Marketing 101.

You can, believe it or not – also join others pre-recorded performances, creating new performances with your vocals harmonized together. Maybe you have found another Gleek whose voice resonates with yours? Well, simply start a Glee club of your own, automatically sending your fellow glee club members recordings for them to add their harmonies.
