CES 2011 Exclusive Video: 1/4 International Calls made via Skype
TeleGeography recently came out with a study showing that Skype has
grown to account for 1 in 4 international calls, a number that comes at
no surprise as Skype expands its reach to mobile and TV platforms.I spent this past weekend at the 2011 International
CES in Las Vegas and while there I had the opportunity to speak with
Neil Stevens, VP and General Manager of Consumer at Skype, and Jonathan
Christensen of the Platform Business Unit at Skype, about Skype
integration on Television platforms and its recent success with the
iPhone launch, Verizon partnership and its acquisition of Qik, a service
that allows consumers to record and share videos directly from their
mobile device.
