Zeebox wins UK’s most popular startup

zeeboxITProPortal has reported, via research from Synthesio, that second screen social TV product zeebox is the UK’s most popular startup after research showed there is more buzz and more talk surrounding the social television app then any other UK startup.

No stranger to awards, zeebox has won a slew of then over the past two years including "Top 50 apps for iPhone 2013 - Time Magazine", "App Store Best of 2012 – Apple"  "Top 25 Best Free iPad Apps – Mashable" and "App of the Year 2012 - T3 Magazine"

Synthesio, a social media listening platform, reported that Zeebox beat out competition from both Swiftkey and Zoopla with the victory down to the way it uses social media.

“Zeebox has created a lot of online buzz by fully integrating social media into the app. This strategy has helped to create a huge number of online conversations which have grown steadily over the last few months. Swiftkey has been particularly successful in the US, with many users recommending it to their friends and followers,” said Catriona Oldershaw, UK MD of Synthesio.

Synthesio’s research looked at technology startups from the past five years and used various parameters to work out the 19 sites that had the highest buzz surrounding them.

The results of the research were a close run thing as Zeebox had a 16 per cent share of conversation, just ahead of keyboard app Swiftkey on 15 per cent and then property website Zoopla with 13 per cent.
