Distimo (http://www.distimo.com), the globally recognized app store analytics leader, announced the launch today of its new Distimo iOS® app, the first mobile app to offer users the ability to check the performance of their own and competing apps across any app store from the palm of their hand. The Distimo iOS app taps into the full suite of Distimo App Analytics tools, and offers comprehensive analysis and tracking of daily downloads, revenues, in-app purchases, and reviews in all major app stores including the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Samsung Apps, Apple Mac Store, Windows Phone Marketplace, Windows Store, BlackBerry World, and Nokia Ovi Store. The Distimo iOS app is available now as a free download in the Apple App Store.

The new Distimo iOS app also includes access to the Distimo Leaderboards, which displays the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly rankings for all major app stores. The Leaderboards data can be sorted by category and country, allowing users to keep a pulse on the rapidly changing app market. Additionally, Distimo AppIQ customers can view premium transactional data including the daily download and revenue volumes of any app in any category, globally. The app provides users with on-the-go access to track the performance of their own app data alongside competing apps, enabling developers to gain solid insight into their daily app performance wherever they may be.
Methodology and accuracy
Distimo offers the most reliable download and revenue trending data in the market. The company collects two data sets. The first is publicly available data, such as app and publisher names, prices, rankings and ratings. The second data set consists of transactional data – downloads and revenues – for developers that use Distimo App Analytics. Download and revenue volumes are then calculated based on daily sampling of both data sets. Distimo always excludes the transactional data of individual apps from its analysis when calculating downloads and revenues for individual apps in order to preserve the confidentiality of its users’ data. Estimations are based on the transactional data of over three billion downloads per quarter. The accuracy of Distimo’s app data is unmatched in the industry: 54 percent of apps are estimated with a margin of error below three percent, and 95 percent are estimated with a margin of error below 10 percent.
