Popcornflix, the FREE streaming media service from New York City-based Screen Media Ventures, LLC, launched in France and Germany, giving film and TV lovers three easy ways to enjoy 100 percent free movies and shows in their native language: on the web, on iOS and Android mobile devices with the free Popcornflix app.

Netflix to Launch in Germany?
According to a recent report in the German media, Netflix will launch in Germany in September 2014. TBI reports more (in English) Though Netflix has not commented publicly on the plans, the report claims that Netflix is planning a large-scale ad campaign in Germany to tie in with a September launch.

The move would see the firm take on existing OTT services in the country like ProSiebeSat.1-owned Maxdome and Vivendi’s 2013-launched SVoD service Watchever.

Dutch digital TV subscribers grow to 6.6 million in Q3
The number of digital TV connections in the Netherlands grew by 1.0 percent during the third quarter of 2013 to 6.61 million on 30 September 2013. According to Telecompaper's quarterly Dutch Television Market report, digital TV is now used by 85.3 percent of TV subscribers in the Netherlands, including 3.69 million cable subscribers who also have analogue TV connections.
