Netherlands' Broadcasters Introduce New VoD Challenger to Netflix in Dutch Market

nlzeitlogoThe top three Dutch broadcasting groups, NPO, RTL and SBS, have launched their common S-VOD portal, NLziet in order to take on Netflix and Videoland in The Netherlands. The platform, which will cost cost €7.95 a month, will launch with 2750 series and programmes (29,002 episodes and 12,024 hours) of TV and there are apps available for iOS and Android, as well as a browser application.
Director Niel, head of NLziet, said: 
"We have a wider range than Netflix and Videoland We do talk shows, dramas, documentaries and game shows."
During the first few weeks, NLziet is only available to people with an invite to take part in the beta phase, from July 1, the service will be available to anyone. The first month is free of charge.

NLziet is already available for the PCs and tablets and later this year, apps for smart phones and smart TVs will be introduced.
